Today November 30th is the birthday of the exciting second chapter of the Saga’s director, Chris Weitz.

Chris was born in New York in 1969 by actress Susan and fashion designer John . Early in his career, he helped his brother Paul in the preparation of films such as Antz and The Nutty Professor’s family, giving him a hand behind the camera with the direction of American Pie in 1999. Before directing New Moon has made two other major film adaptations from books to worldwide success: About a Boy in 2002 (based on the novel by Nick Hornby) and The Golden Compass (part of the trilogy His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman).

A little curiosity: he also played the small role of the neighbor of Mr. and Mrs. Smith with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

On this day so important Twilight Fans Italia‘s staff makes him a lot of wishes!

Thanks a lot to PinkPunk83 for the pic.

Director of New Moon Chris Weitz is embarking on an exciting new adventure as a writer of books.

According to Hollywood Crush, the director (and writer of screenplay) is about to dedicate himself to writing a trilogy of young adult novels whose first book will be released in 2014 under the title “The Young World“, that will tell the story of a group of New York City kids who “inherit a destroyed and desolate earth, after a cataclysmic event kills off every person on earth not between the ages of 12 and 21″.

Very interestina plot, don’t you think??

The Hollywood Reporter announced yesterday the news that Chris Weitz, director of New Moon, would be in talks to bring on the big screen, in the role the writer, classic Disney Cinderella.

This would not be a new role for the director/producer, who in the past had tried his hand at writing with the film, which also went on to direct, About a Boy and The Golden Compass.

With Cinderella, however, it would only be writing the script of the film, which will be directed by Mark Romanek and produced by Simon Kinberg.

We do a great good luck in Weitz, and there remains only to wait to see the result!

While handing him the award, Rob said that “Chris is a tremendous artist and I think … it’s weird to be here saying these things about him because in our last conversation we talked about going to the Coachella Festival to eat some mushrooms”.
